I don't often (ever?!) introduce my wedding collections with words because I'm honestly not a great writer and I feel that my words cheapen the images. However, I would be remiss if I didn't mention, at some point, that I've been shooting lots of film on wedding days and really loving it.
I shot a good amount of film at Jess & Nick's wedding, and have included many of their film scans in the collection below. It's been an amazingly fun challenge for me to pick up my film camera on wedding days, mostly because of the pace at which everything happens and the sporadic & spontaneous situations that arise. Shooting on film forces me to slow down and truly be in touch with my surroundings. Because of this, I've not only felt more connected to photography as a creative medium, but also to the amazing couples who have encouraged me to pick up my film camera and follow this desire to 'unplug' and create something beautiful.
If you would be interested in including film photography at your wedding (or portrait session!) please please please don't hesitate to ask! I would love to talk with you about it. Now, on to the photos!
